Ingredients - How to make baklava with honey
To prepare the baklava
- 14 sheets of baklava dough
- 3 cups coarsely crushed cashews
- 1 ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- pinch of salt
- 1 cup clarified melted butter
To prepare the drink
- 2½ cups pure Langnese honey
- 1 cup water
- juice of half a lemon
Preparation method - how to make baklava with honey
- Boil honey with water, then add lemon juice, cook the mixture for a minute and set it aside to cool.
- In a bowl, mix the walnuts, cinnamon and salt.
- Cut the baklava chips according to the size of the oven tray used.
- We grease the dish with butter, put a sheet of baklava dough on it, then brush it with butter. Cover it with another layer of baklava dough, and repeat the same process until we get 6 sheets on top of each other.
- Sprinkle half of the walnut mixture on it, then repeat the same process by adding 4 sheets of baklava dough, and sprinkle the rest of the nut mixture on top. Finally, we repeat the same process by adding the remaining four baklava dough sheets, and brushing the surface with butter.
- Cut the baklava into lozenges, and bake in a hot oven at 175°C for 50 minutes.
- Pour the syrup over the baklava right out of the oven.
