A new study reveals that Scottish heather honey is one of the world's leading foods in "manuka competition"

Scottish heather honey is set to overtake its global competitors after it was revealed as the world's leading superfood in a recent scientific study.
Scottish Bee Company heather honey contains up to 10 times more essential micronutrient, manganese, than 200 of its global competitors.
Scottish heather honey is also among the best manganese-containing nutritional products in the world.

The Study

Researchers from Fera Science Limited teamed up with Edinburgh-based Scottish Bee earlier this month from the content of the content, which is produced in Lothians, Dumfriesshire, Stirlingshire, Fife and Aberdeenshire.
Study results indicate that heather honey from The Scottish Bee Company contains significantly higher levels of an essential micronutrient, manganese.
In addition to its high antioxidant properties, manganese plays a role in helping to form and activate enzymes in the body that contribute to tissue damage and nutrient metabolism. It also helps maintain bone health.
This breakthrough is a world first and firmly establishes this honey's position as a competitor to Manuka honey, indicating that Scottish Bee Company heather honey has a host of positive health benefits.
"We didn't know that any type of honey could be a significant source of dietary manganese before this work was completed," said Dr. Adrian Charlton of Fera Science Limited.
Fera's food and beverage analytical testing services are backed by scientific expertise and detailed knowledge of current and emerging regulations and internationally recognized quality standards.
